God always does what He says He'll do. Keep hope!

In Luke 2 this week, we'll read the story of Simeon. He was a righteous and devout man who loved God with his whole heart and did what pleased the Lord.

Although Israel had waited for generations, the Holy Spirit revealed to Simeon that he would get to see the Messiah himself with his own two eyes. So he lived faithfully and he waited eagerly for God to keep his promise.

Have you been waiting for God to keep a promise?

Everyone expected the Messiah would be the Saviour of Israel, but God had something even better in store.

When Simeon saw Jesus, God revealed that He was the Messiah who would save not just Israel, but all people everywhere, because He is the Saviour of the world. In all that waiting, God was doing something even bigger than they expected.

If you're waiting for God, don't lose hope. God always does what He says He will do.

As you read through this week’s devotionals, remind yourself that as you live faithfully in your waiting, He could be doing something even bigger and better than what you expect.

  • How does Simeon’s faithfulness and trust in God’s promise inspire you to remain hopeful during your own seasons of waiting?

  • What promises from God are you holding onto, and how can you trust that His timing and plan are perfect?
