The Adventure Awaits

Acts 15-21 is filled with crucial decisions, cultural shifts, and powerful testimonies that resonate deeply with us today.

1. A Game-Changer

The Jerusalem Council in Acts 15 is like the ultimate summit for early Church leaders, tackling a hot topic: how to include Gentiles without piling on rules (Acts 15:1-2).

While Paul and Barnabas were at Antioch of Syria, some men from Judea arrived and began to teach the believers: 'Unless you are circumcised as required by the law of Moses, you cannot be saved.' Paul and Barnabas disagreed with them, arguing vehemently. Finally, the church decided to send Paul and Barnabas to Jerusalem, accompanied by some local believers, to talk to the apostles and elders about this question. Acts 15:1-2 (NLT)

Their conclusion? Faith in Jesus is what matters most! This teaches us that unity thrives in diversity. Imagine your community celebrating differences while focusing on what unites us—our love for Christ.

How can you foster that spirit in your life?

2. The Birth of New Adventures

When Paul and Barnabas clash over John Mark (in Acts 15:36-41), it feels like a reality TV showdown! But instead of letting it tear them apart, they split into two teams, doubling their mission efforts. This shows us that disagreement doesn’t have to mean disaster; it can spark new beginnings. Embrace conflicts as opportunities for creativity and collaboration. Who knows what new paths might open up?

3. Listening to the Spirit

As Paul journeys through cities (in Acts 16-19), he constantly checks in with the Holy Spirit.

Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there. Acts 16:6-7 (NLT)

It’s like having a divine GPS guiding his every step! This emphasizes the importance of staying tuned to God’s voice in our lives.

Are you listening to the Holy Spirit?

Seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance can lead you to unexpected and exciting opportunities!

4. Boldness in the Face of Adversity

Paul’s commitment to sharing the Gospel, even when the stakes are high, is nothing short of inspiring.

I don’t know what awaits me, except that the Holy Spirit tells me in city after city that jail and suffering lie ahead. But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus — the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God. Acts 20:22b-24 (NLT)

He faced opposition but never backed down. In a world that often sidesteps spiritual discussions, let Paul’s fearless example inspire you to share your faith with confidence and love.

What’s stopping you from starting that conversation?

5. The Power of Community: Gather and Celebrate

In Acts 20:7, the early Church comes together for communion and teaching, creating a vibrant community of believers. This reminds us that there’s incredible power in gathering together.

Look for ways to connect with your church or community—whether it’s a potluck, small group, or service project. Together, you can create lasting bonds that strengthen your faith.

Are you ready to supercharge your spiritual journey and make a meaningful impact in the world around you?
