Beauty in Simplicity

By Rick Carrol

Most things that appear simple, are the cumulative result of hours and hours of work.

A true artist knows that less is more, but it requires more to wow with less.

It’s easier to communicate in 1000 words than it is 100 words.

But there is beauty in simplicity.

While as a culture we tend to overdo the Christmas season with more lights, more parties, more gifts, and more food, the true beauty of the season is actually found in reducing it to it’s simple central message – that God loves us, and that His kingdom is one of humility, not extravagance.

I like a good Christmas light show, or a holiday special that blows me away just as much as the next person, but let’s never forget that the true beauty of this season is the cumulative work of thousands of years in the making – of a humble baby coming to earth, born in a back room to demonstrate the ultimate act of God’s love for you and I.

The beauty is in the simplicity.
