By using the website or Apps (mobile App and WebApp), you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your Personal Information (as described in this Privacy Policy).
Data Collection
We collect a variety of information about you when you use our website, some of it collected directly from you (personal), and some of it collected in a more passive or automated way through our website (non-personal).
PORTICO collects personally identifying information like your name, age, email address, phone number, mailing address or contact information, credentials (passwords, password hints, and similar security information used for authentication and accounting access), your website URL and your Internet Protocol (IPL) addresses when you submit a form or sign-up for an event or an offer. Personal Information acquired is kept confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties except as may be required by law. While donating or making any type of purchase online, PORTICO will need to collect your personal and financial information (credit card information) required to process the transaction.
Use of "Cookies"
PORTICO may place an electronic "cookie" in the browser files of a visitor’s computer. Cookies themselves do not enable us to access any personal information about our visitors; however, they do allow PORTICO to analyze visitor’s use of our websites and to improve the user experience. This analysis helps us better understand which areas of our websites are most useful and popular so we can plan improvements and updates accordingly.

If you choose to register or log in to PORTICO website, Apps or Learning Management Platform using a social media account, we may have access to certain information about you from your social media provider.
Use of Mobile App
Our mobile App uses GPS information to identify when you are near one of our physical locations. After downloading and/or logging in to our mobile App, this information enables push notifications to be sent to your mobile device. We do not store this information outside of your device. After your first use of this functionality, we will assume we have that consent unless you revoke it through the settings of your mobile device.
Protecting Your Data
We keep information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless otherwise required by law. A longer retention period is required or permitted by law such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

The privacy of communication over the Internet cannot be guaranteed, as the Internet is not a secure medium. PORTICO Community Church does not assume any responsibility for any harm, loss or damage you may experience or incur by the sending of personal or confidential information over the Internet by or to PORTICO Community Church.
Communicating with Children
A parent or guardian should consent to their minor using our sites, attending events and volunteering. You shall be solely responsible for providing supervision of the minor’s use of our sites, participation and communication, and assume full responsibility for the processing of any information provided to us by that minor.
Where we are provided a minor’s information by an adult or a minor while accompanied by an adult, we assume that the parent or guardian consents to our use and processing of that information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Any communication with a minor (under 18) will only be made with the parents or guardians consent and within the scope of an event, program or volunteer position at PORTICO. To keep all such communication between Kids or Youth leaders and minors transparent, communication will be retained in a secure place. Parents or guardians can withdraw consent at any time by writing to connect@porticocanada.ca.

By using the PORTICO Community Church website, Apps, Learning Management System, and/or Online Church platform, you assume all risks associated with the use of these Sites, including any risk to your computer, software or data being damaged by any virus, software, or any other file that might be transmitted or activated via the PORTICO Community Church website or your access to it. PORTICO Community Church shall not be liable for any damages of any kind (general, special, incidental or consequential damages, including, without limitation, lost revenues or lost profits) resulting from the use or misuse of the information contained in PORTICO Community Church website, Apps, Learning Management System, and/or Online Church platform.
