At PORTICO we have many volunteer opportunities for you to use your resources to lead programs at church, get involved with local initiatives, and support our global Kingdom Builder partners.

Volunteer Opportunities at church:

Greet guests and ensure everyone feels welcome from the moment they arrive.

Lead others in their faith journey through meaningful relationships and shared experiences in a small group setting.

Plan menus, shop for groceries, prepare meals, and serve food at events.

SERVE+KB+Cafe.jpg — Prepare hand-crafted lattes, teas and iced beverages to raise funds for Kingdom Builders.

Create a fun, safe place for kids in our nursery, preschool, or elementary classrooms to grow in their faith.

Help uplift our congregation through intercessory prayer on Sundays and during the week.

Operate cameras, lights and sound equipment to ensure our worship experiences run smoothly.

Lead our congregation in heartfelt worship, by singing or playing an instrument.

Guide middle and high school students in their faith journey, through small groups or worship.

Go on a Short Term Missions Trip and have an impact in a new community!

Yes, we have family-friendly volunteer opportunities where families can serve together.
We can totally appreciate that! Fortunately, each role has its own flexible time commitments. We understand that schedules can be busy. Many volunteer roles are flexible, and we appreciate any amount of time you can give. We can help you find a role that fits your availability.

You can apply to become a volunteer by filling out our online application form. Please put aside 20-30 minutes to complete the application. Some volunteer opportunities will require references, so make sure to have that information before you apply.
Yes, absolutely! This is a great place to get started. Whether you're new to PORTICO or have been here for a while, we have incredible opportunities for you! We will walk you through the process and train you in an area you’re interested in. There are so many different areas to explore – we want you to find one that you love to serve in!
As a church, it is critical that we provide a safe and protected environment for all of our attendees, especially our children and vulnerable adults. There is a 6-month waiting period for anyone interested in serving with children/youth/tech at PORTICO and applicants are required to complete the Plan to Protect (PTP) training, as well as a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
Yes, we often need volunteers for special events such as community outreach programs. Keep an eye on our announcements for upcoming opportunities.
