Pastor Arnold’s Reflection on the Peace of God

The angels announced peace on earth at the birth of Jesus.

Everyone needs peace in their lives, peace within themselves and peace with other people. The question is, is peace possible?

In John 1:14, Jesus said he will dwell among us. To dwell is to be fully present in a place or with a person.

His presence is made known when God dwells with people, despite our shortcomings. Inner peace begins with a relationship with God and continues as we focus on His strength and trust Him to fill us. We can exchange our weaknesses for His strength in any area of life. Peace with others starts when we recognize that God wants us to be peacemakers.

As you read through this week’s devotionals, remember that Jesus wants to dwell within you so that you can experience that peace.

Reflection Questions:

  • Is there someone you should invite in your family to mend a broken relationship?

  • Do you need to apologize or break a long held silence that creates barriers?
