  1. What was something that stood out to you from this past Sunday’s message? Share what you learned and how it will impact your life.

  2. Read Acts 19:1-10. Why did Paul ask the followers if they had received the Holy Spirit after believing? Why was that question important?

  3. What crucial role does the Holy Spirit play in the process of salvation, and in what transformative ways does He impact the life of a new believer?

  4. After becoming a Christian and having received the gift of the Holy Spirit, how has your life changed? Share a personal story.

  5. The group of disciples Paul first met in Ephesus only received the baptism of John the Baptist. They failed to see that John the Baptist was only a pointer to Jesus. What are the things that are a part of the Christian faith that are intended to point us to Jesus? In what ways do we end up seeing those things as an end and of themselves rather than a pointer? How does that impact and affect our faith?

  6. Read Acts 19:8-9 and Matthew 13: 53-58. Even though we might be faithful followers of Jesus, we can still be resistant to the Gospel and call of the Spirit. What are reasons and/or situations for why we might resist the Spirit? When you’re in a place of resistance what tends to be the catalyst to surrender?

  7. Paul established a training program at Tyrannus’ hall that lasted for two years, aimed at helping new believers and leaders strengthen their faith. What are some methods or resources you or others have found helpful for learning about the Christian faith in today's culture?
