  1. What was something that stood out to you from this past Sunday’s message? Share what you learned and how it will impact your life.

  2. Read Matthew 7:1-6. Why does Jesus say we should not judge others? Are there times when judging is acceptable?

  3. In which parts of your life do you often judge others? For example, do you judge people’s emotions, money management, work ethic, eating habits, health or hygiene, spiritual practices, parenting skills, marriage, etc.

  4. Why would you not want to be judged with the same standard you judge others?

  5. Where does the Bible show Jesus showing grace and not judging others, even though He has the right and authority to judge?

  6. Read Matthew 7:3-5. What does the “speck” in a neighbour’s eye and the “log” in your own eye symbolize? What is the significance of the “eye” in this imagery?

  7. Why is it hard for us to see our own wrongdoings? Why do we notice the wrongdoings of others so easily?

  8. What keyword does Jesus use in Matthew 7:5 to describe certain people? How can we avoid being like those people?

  9. What does Matthew 7:6 mean? Who do the dogs and pigs represent? How would you describe their character? What is considered sacred, and what do pearls symbolize? What type of people should we avoid sharing precious truths with?
