Read 1 Corinthians 8:4-6. What does Paul say about idols and the food sacrificed to them?
Read 1 Corinthians 8:7-9. What issue is Paul trying to get the Corinthians to focus on rather than the actual meat and idols?
Read 1 Corinthians 8:10-12. Some Corinthians may have had a good understanding of their freedom in Christ, as mentioned by Paul, but this knowledge caused issues in the church. What did some of the Corinthians misunderstand about their freedom in? How were the Corinthians showing pride in their actions?
The actions of Christians should be based on love rather than pride. How can prideful conduct lead to division among the members of the body of Christ?
We all encounter aspects of our lives where maintaining humility can be challenging. Can you identify any areas in your life where you take pride?
