  1. What was something that stood out to you about this week’s message? Share what you learned and how it will impact your life.

  2. What kind of impression did you grow up with about marriage? Were they positive or negative?

  3. Read 1 Corinthians 7. What reasons does Paul give for valuing sexual intimacy highly? Do you think the world understands why Christians have a different approach to sex compared to our culture?

  4. Read Matthew 5:32, Matthew 19:3-9. In 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, 15, Paul emphasizes that divorce is not encouraged for Christians. What are your thoughts on this? And how do you feel about divorce for non-Christians or couples with different religious beliefs?

  5. How would you help a Christian friend who is struggling with some of these difficulties in their marriage and is considering separation or divorce?

  6. Given how marriage is seen as a good thing in the Bible (Gen. 2:24), how can we understand why Paul prefers being single? Why did some people in Corinth think it was better not to get married?

  7. What is so good about being single? If you're married, how were you able to serve the Lord as a single? What unique ways can you serve the Lord as a married couple?
