Read Exodus 19:1-25. Who initiated the relationship between God and Israel? Who did the rescuing according to Exodus 19:3-4? What does it say about God that he willingly entered into a covenant? What encouragement and hope does this give you?
What does Exodus 19:4-6 tell us about God's promise to the people of Israel? How do you think these words would have been received by people who had only known slavery in Egypt?
What do the terms "treasured possession," "kingdom of priests," and "holy nation" say about God's heart and intent for His people?
