Read Genesis 6:1-22. What does this passage teach you about sin? How does God respond to sin? What should our attitude be toward sin?
Do you think the world is more or less depraved today than in Noah's time? Why or why not?
What does Genesis 6:5-6 reveal about the heart of man and the heart of God? How can you relate to this reality?
Genesis 6:6 says, “The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.” Does considering how God feels about the wickedness of sinful humans change the way you view God? What do you think it means when God "regrets"? Do God's emotions help you change the way you think about sin? Why, or why not?
Genesis 6:9 describes Noah as "righteous" and "blameless and he walked with God." What impression does this give us about Noah? What do we understand "walking with God" to mean? Do you feel you "walk with God"? Why or why not? Do you want to? How would that be different from the way you live now?
In Genesis 6:22, "Noah did all that God commanded him." What does this tell us about Noah? How is the statement in verse 22 related to the description of Noah's character and Noah's relationship to God in verse 9?
Hebrews 11:7 describes Noah as a “man of faith.” In what ways is his faith manifested? If someone looked at your life, how would they see evidence of your faith and trust in God?
Read Ephesians 2:1-10. Are there any parallels with Genesis 6? What is God calling you to do, in response to this passage?
